What gave you the idea to start your business?
When I moved here from Mexico, I wanted to perform. I met my husband and wanted to teach others how to dance flamenco. My business is my life — and I want to share the dedicated art with others.

What has your experience been opening a business in the Mission?
The Mission reminds her of my country. It’s nice to be to be around the culture and to know that most the people understand your language. The music and art shows that the Mission is the most diverse neighborhood in San Francisco.

How does your business/business idea relate to your life?
Flamenco is my passion and a part of my culture. I want to teach others about my culture and perform the historic dance with others. It’s all centered around continuing the culture.

Why should potential customers invest in small businesses?
It’s important to support small businesses, as the quality of a small businesses is better than a corporation It’s important to know the owner of the business, so you know who you’re supporting and that the employees know each other, as a way to create a family bond.

Where do you see your business in five years?
With more teachers, mainly being able to teach children and young teens who want to become professional dancers. Many people come to enjoy the dance, but it’s also important to continue dancing and, hopefully, to create professionals who love flamenco.

What do you love about the Mission?
The Mission is always warm and inviting, and the people are friendly. This is an authentic place to learn about Latino culture: our food, art, language and social interactions.
